Product Review - Nivea Body Wash - Product Review

We’ve been using Nivea’s “A Touch of Bliss” body wash for the past month and we must say we really like it! The thing you will notice first is how good it smells. Not only does it leave your skin smelling fresh and delicious, but it also makes your entire bathroom smell like a floral fruit salad! It does not feel heavy on your skin and it does not leave any sort of filmy residue. With or without moisturizing after using the body wash, our skin is noticeably softer. Although we are certainly not doctors, we think that this body wash would be good for anyone’s skin. It does not seem like it would irritate or exacerbate any existing skin problem. In fact, we found the only negative thing it does is attract more bug bites because it smells so good! However, the men in our lives don’t seem to be complaining!

W Hotel's New Music Director

Michaelangelo L’Acqua
Here's how you know the W Hotels are uber-cool: They have a global music director. Michaelangelo L’Acqua was previously the music director for Gucci and YSL and has produced fashion shows for Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, John Varvatos, Jil Sander, Chanel, and Diane von Furstenberg among others. One of his first tasks is producing the seventh edition W Hotels CD.

We had the chance to chat with Michaelangelo at fashion week at the W Backstage VIP Lounge. We asked Michaelangelo for his secret to creating killer playlists. His tip: Think about your event as a movie and visualize the score to go along with it. He also suggests logging on to iTunes and checking out the "Listeners Also Bought" link on your favorite songs to find new bands and keep your playlists fresh.

Essie Capri Blue

Essie Capri Blue
Our obsession with nails at Fashion Week continues with the introduction of Essie's Capri Blue. We met Essie, herself, yesterday in the Mercedes-Benz Lounge, backstage at Bryant Park. She was on hand to announce her latest color, a shimmering midnight blue, which celebrates Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and the car company's newly launched E-class vehicles.

If you weren't in NYC to get your bottle, Capri Blue is similar to Essie's Midnight Cami. Now, if only we could find Mars Red from Fashion Week Swim Miami.

A Toast to Fashion Week

Fashion Week may be almost over, but that's no reason to stop the party. (Indeed, if you're as tired as we are, it may be time to start drinking!) Grab some of your favorite girls and celebrate New York Fashion Week, wherever you are. Try some fun Fashion Week recipes like the Supermodel Spritzer (a combination of Pear mix, club soda, and ice). Or step it up with a straight-up Marc Jacobs inspired martini (shown above):

The Marc-tini

1 fl oz Rose’s Cocktail Infusions Blue Raspberry Mix

0.5 fl oz Rose’s Cocktail Infusions Mango Twist Mix

1.5 fl oz Vodka

Shake with 1 cup of ice

Strain into Martini glass

Garnish with a slice of mango, as desired

If you can’t make it to the runway, bring the runway to you! Read on for more Fashion Week-inspired cocktails.

Leggings for Fall

We shouldn't be surpised leggings are back in fashion. It's not that we don't like the silhouette, who doesn't want longer leaner looking legs? We just don't want to see the mis-use of them (think cotton leggings with a big Mickey Mouse sweatshirt) that became way too common in the 80's.

If you're daring enough to go down this route, we recommend looking for a quality pair with a good dose of Lycra or spandex to hold their shape. No bagging backside please! Wear them with boots or heels, a flowy top, and a cropped leather jacket or vest.

Our favorite designer of leggings is Vince. She crafts them longer than most and they wear well through washing. They also have zippers and buttons which make them easier to pull on, give them more shape and camouflage the belly. The Ponte Darted Leggings are longer than they look here (this model has super long legs).

We have a pair of the Ponte Riding Pants. The seam on the inner thigh makes us feel slimmer. Notice how great the Vince cashmere sweater goes with leggings too.

We also swear by black Theory pants, because they make your butt look great. Only problem with Theory is we have to go up a size. Oh, well, nobody knows but us. The Tobie Skinny Cargo Pants have pockets on the outer thighs and seams down the back of the legs.

This pair of 7 For All Mankind navy leggings has denim jeans styling, including their flattering signature back pockets.

These DVF Under Leggings are the longest we found at 36 inches.

Carolina Herrera Milk Mustache Commercial

Carolina Herrera Milk Mustache ad

Carolina Herrera is the latest celeb to join in the Got Milk? campaign. She was photographed with her daughter, also named Carolina. Herrera’s ad copy reads, “Fabric is my livelihood, and good health is the fabric of my life. That’s why my daughter and I love milk. It’s nature’s wellness drink – naturally nutrient-rich like no other beverage."

Check out the behind the scenes footage, below.
